1. Who can get in the weekly newsletter?
Anyone promoting an event to the GLBT community. Those events which raise
vital fund for the organizations that serve this community get first priority, commercial
events second priority.
2. Is it really free?
Yes, it's free to the person promoting an activity in L.A. and free to the women on the mailing list.
3. How many women will read the newsletter?
A few thousand women our on our list already.
4. When should I send you my event notice?
We prefer if you can send it at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
5. Will you post every single event sent your way?
It's first come first served with first priority to non-profit events. We need to keep the size
manageable and the activities must be relevant and targeted towards our community, so we
can guarantee that people will keep reading.
We also like events with a cultural or
unique angle to them.
6. You do events yourself. Aren't you in competition with other promoters?
Yes, the L list newsletter is a project of Planet Femme, an L.A. based event organization.
However, we believe that when promoters support each other, the whole pond
is healthier. Many women we have met have stopped going out because of the perception there's not
enough going on. I meet women at Planet Femme all the time who say they haven't been out to
events in a long time, but that they had some much fun that they think they'll go out dancing
that week to Girl Bar or iCandy or to an Outfest event, etc.
